The 2019 Championship Season

Each year, LPGA Amateur Golf Association,  holds the largest women's amateur golf competition in the world! Qualifying rounds are conducted on Chapter and Regional levels. There are five flights to accommodate all levels of golfers, plus a competitive scramble team option. Winners of each flight may advance through the qualifying rounds to compete in the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship Finals.  The LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship started in 1995. It has grown to be the largest women’s amateur golf competition in the world and we want YOU to be a part of the fun and excitement. Members of all skill levels are encouraged to compete so give the Championship a try and put your game to the test!

STAGES OF THE LPGA Amateur Golf Assoication CHAMPIONSHIP
The Chapter Championship, an 18-hole local qualifying round held at each Chapter location - Tucson Chapter Championship, Date To Be Determined
The Semi-Final Championship, an 18-hole round held at 15 venues from June – August - Semi Final Round in El Cajon, CA on June 15, 2019 
The LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship Finals, a two-day, 36 hole event - Rancho Mirage, CA on October 11-12, 2019

The LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship offers two different competitive formats: Stroke Play Competition and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition. You select the competitive format that best fits your game, personality and skill level.

STROKE PLAY COMPETITION
Stroke play competitors play in one of five flights at the Chapter Championship qualifying event based upon their USGA Handicap Index.

Flight  Handicap Range
Championship  0.0 to 10.0
First  10.01 to 17.0
Second  17.01 to 24.0
Third  24.01 to 32.0
Fourth  32.01 to 40.4

First place low gross and first place low net winners in each of the flights will qualify to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Additionally, recognition awards are give for the low gross and low net Senior players (55-69) and for the low gross and low net Super Senior players (70 and over).

TEAM SCRAMBLE
Chapter scramble teams consist of four (4) women who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship team “handicap factor” is established based on the USGA Handicap Index of all four players.
1st and 2nd place winners will advance to the next level of the competition.
